Maharashtra has both dense banking in Mumbai–Pune and large under-served pockets in Vidarbha, Marathwada and tribal districts. A Bank CSP in Maharashtra therefore makes sense in very different ways: a highway town outside Pune is not the same case as a panchayat in Gadchiroli or a chawl-adjacent counter in Thane. Use this page to describe the shop you will actually run — catchment, PIN and who sits at the counter — not to repeat the all-India checklist.
Why CSP demand looks different in Maharashtra
Mumbai and Pune already have heavy branch and CSP coverage; new points there are often rejected for overlap. Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai sit in one metropolitan market. A chawl-adjacent or society-facing counter in Thane is judged against that density, not against a taluka in Vidarbha. Demand is clearer in tehsil towns, sugar-belt villages, MIDC worker settlements and districts where people still travel to the taluka for AEPS and DBT cash. Marathi on the counter is expected outside purely Hindi-speaking pockets of the north-east of the state.
Treat the state as several catchments, not one market. On the verification call, name the catchment and the shop PIN. “Maharashtra” alone is not enough for a Corporate BC to map you.
Mumbai–Pune overlap and the shop they will map
A new point inside Mumbai municipal limits, Thane, Navi Mumbai or a Pune city ward is a different case from a highway town outside Pune. If another CSP of the same bank already sits on the same road, naming an MIDC settlement will not save the enquiry. Say how far the nearest branch is, and whether the room is street-facing. A first-floor room inside a society is harder to explain than a shop people already walk past.
If you work in Mumbai or Pune but the counter will be in Nashik, Kolhapur or another district, still select Maharashtra and the native-shop PIN. Do not use a Mumbai billing address for a shop that is not in Mumbai. The bank or Corporate BC maps the outlet, not your worksite. Someone must be present at that Maharashtra counter in banking hours.
Vidarbha, Marathwada, sugar-belt and tribal points
Vidarbha applications already come from Nagpur and Amravati; a panchayat in Gadchiroli is a further step from that branch density. Marathwada applications come from Aurangabad (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar), Nanded and Solapur. In those belts, people still travelling to the taluka for AEPS and DBT cash is useful context — it is not a vacancy list. Name the tehsil town or sugar-belt village, not “Vidarbha rural” or “Marathwada rural”.
An MIDC worker settlement and a sugar-belt village are also different from each other. Describe the settlement, the hours you can actually keep, and whether Marathi is the language at the counter. In Hindi-speaking pockets of the north-east of the state, say so. A shop shut on DBT credit days is a weak outlet whatever the catchment.
Areas from which we take Maharashtra applications
We accept Maharashtra applications from Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Nagpur, Aurangabad (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar), Solapur, Kolhapur, Amravati, Nanded and other districts. Write the exact city/town and PIN — “Maharashtra” alone is not enough for a BC to map you. If the shop sits on a highway outside Pune, in an MIDC settlement, or in a sugar-belt village, write that town and PIN rather than only the nearest big city.
Eligibility if you live in Maharashtra
Citizenship, age, education, shop and device rules are the all-India ones — there is no separate “Maharashtra rulebook” on this website. Banks and Corporate BCs use their own circulars. What is Maharashtra-specific is viability: overlap in Mumbai–Pune and Thane, and whether a tehsil, sugar-belt or tribal point can be mapped at all. Read the eligibility guide before you spend on a fascia or kit.
Choose a preferred bank on the form
On the application form, pick the bank you want on the outlet fascia. The bank or its authorised Corporate BC decides whether the location is viable. We do not assign a bank for a Maharashtra shop and we do not publish a private Maharashtra partnership list.
How to apply from Maharashtra
Use the same form as the rest of the site. The full document and KYC sequence is on the application process guide. For Maharashtra, the details that matter most on the first call are the shop PIN and the catchment name.
- Open the Bank CSP application form
- Enter the shop’s city or town, select Maharashtra, and fill the shop’s 6-digit PIN — not a Mumbai billing PIN if the counter is elsewhere
- Choose a preferred bank — do not leave it as “Other” if you already know
- On the verification call, name the catchment (Mumbai–Thane, Pune highway or MIDC, Vidarbha, Marathwada, sugar-belt village, or tribal panchayat) and keep Aadhaar and shop photos handy
Apply Bank CSP only forwards enquiries. The bank or Corporate BC decides appointment, training and commission. No fixed monthly income is promised for Maharashtra or any other state.
