Uttar Pradesh generates a large share of India-wide Bank Mitra and CSP apply searches because of population, Jan Dhan / DBT volumes and seasonal remittances into Purvanchal. A CSP in Lucknow’s outskirts is a different business from a block-level outlet in Azamgarh, Banda or Bahraich. Use this page to describe the actual shop — catchment, PIN and who will sit at the counter — not to repeat the all-India checklist.
Why CSP demand looks different in Uttar Pradesh
High population does not automatically mean a vacant CSP slot. Many NCR-edge and district HQ markets are already saturated. Ghaziabad, Noida and Greater Noida sit next to the Delhi-NCR branch network. City wards in Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Meerut and Varanasi often already have a branch and one or more CSPs of the same bank. Stronger cases are often large villages and qasbas with a weekly market, a school cluster, and a 5–10 km gap to the nearest branch. Hindi (and local Bhojpuri / Awadhi / Bundeli as needed) is the working language.
Treat the state as several catchments, not one market. West UP and Rohilkhand (Meerut, Agra, Aligarh, Bareilly, Moradabad) have more urban banking and more existing BC points. Awadh (Lucknow, Unnao, Sitapur, Hardoi, Barabanki) mixes a well-served capital with block towns that still send people to the tehsil for cash. Purvanchal and Bundelkhand need a different story — see below. On the verification call, name the catchment and the shop PIN. “Uttar Pradesh rural” is not enough for a Corporate BC to map you.
Purvanchal remittances and the local counter
Eastern UP — Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Azamgarh, Jaunpur, Ballia, Ghazipur, Deoria, Mau, Sultanpur and neighbouring districts — has a long pattern of people working in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Gujarat, the Gulf and elsewhere, then sending money home. That is why cash-out (AEPS and domestic transfer) and DBT credit days matter more at a Purvanchal counter than they do at a city kiosk that mainly does bill pay. Festival months and the weeks after harvest can be busier. None of that guarantees a vacant slot or a fixed income.
If another CSP of the same bank already sits on the same market road, remittance footfall will not save the case. Say how far the nearest branch and the nearest same-bank CSP are. If you only open after late morning or close on the day pensions credit, the counsellor will treat that as a weak outlet, even in a high-remittance block.
Bundelkhand, Terai and everyday practicality
Bundelkhand (Jhansi, Banda, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Chitrakoot, Lalitpur, Jalaun) and the northern Terai belt (Bahraich, Shravasti, Balrampur, Lakhimpur Kheri and similar districts) can have real last-mile demand because the branch is a long trip. They also have harder device uptime: power cuts, patchy data, and seasonal roads. Be honest about electricity, an inverter or generator, and whether the biometric device will stay online. BCs drop locations that cannot complete AEPS when customers actually arrive.
A street-facing room on a weekly haat road or opposite a school or primary health centre is easier to explain than a first-floor room inside a colony. That shop test is used across India; in these belts it matters more because the BC may not visit twice.
Areas from which we take Uttar Pradesh applications
Applications are taken from Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Agra, Meerut, Gorakhpur, Ghaziabad, Noida, Bareilly, Jhansi and other UP districts — including Ayodhya, Mathura, Aligarh, Moradabad, Unnao, Sitapur, Azamgarh, Jaunpur and the Bundelkhand / Terai districts named above. Always add PIN code. If you work in Delhi-NCR but the shop is in UP, use the shop PIN, not your mobile’s billing address.
People who live in Ghaziabad or Gautam Buddha Nagar and work in Delhi should still select Uttar Pradesh on the form if the outlet will be in UP. Do not file the enquiry as Delhi because that is where you take the metro. The bank or Corporate BC maps the shop, not your office.
Eligibility if you live in Uttar Pradesh
Citizenship, age, education, shop and device rules are the all-India ones — there is no separate “Uttar Pradesh rulebook” on this website. Banks and Corporate BCs use their own circulars. What is UP-specific is viability: overlap in NCR-edge and district HQ markets, and whether a block in Purvanchal or Bundelkhand already has a same-bank CSP. Read the eligibility guide before you spend on a fascia or kit.
Choose a preferred bank on the form
On the application form, pick the bank you want on the outlet fascia. The bank or its authorised Corporate BC decides whether the location is viable. We do not assign a bank for you and we do not publish a private Uttar Pradesh partnership list.
How to apply from Uttar Pradesh
Use the same form as the rest of the site. The full document and KYC sequence is on the application process guide. For Uttar Pradesh, the details that usually delay a case are the shop PIN and the catchment name.
- Open the Bank CSP application form
- Enter the shop’s city or qasba, select Uttar Pradesh, and fill the shop’s 6-digit PIN — not a Delhi or Noida billing PIN if the counter is elsewhere
- Choose a preferred bank — do not leave it as “Other” if you already know
- On the verification call, name the catchment (Purvanchal, Bundelkhand, NCR-edge, Awadh or Rohilkhand) and keep Aadhaar and shop photos handy
Apply Bank CSP only forwards enquiries. The bank or Corporate BC decides appointment, training and commission. No fixed monthly income is promised for Uttar Pradesh or any other state.
